The developer of solutions for corporate cybersecurity, the Israeli company Check Point Software Technologies, is closing its Belarusian company, whose office has been operating in Belarus since 2004, writes Office Life.
The Israeli company was founded in 1993 by engineer Gil Shved. In the same year, he patented the technology with which the first version of FireWall-1 was created, and a little later, one of the world's first VPNs. According to IDC analysts, in February 1996, the company occupied 40% of the world market for firewalls. In June 1996, the company entered the Nasdaq stock exchange.
In 2004, Check Point Software Technologies began opening regional development and cybersecurity offices, including in Minsk.
IOOO “CHECK POINT SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES BELRUS” was registered on December 23, 2004 by the Minsk City Executive Committee. The company's main activity is computer programming. In October 2019, it became a resident of the High Technologies Park.
Today, the Israeli company is one of the world leaders in the field of cybersecurity solutions. It is known that Check Point Software Technologies' revenue for the third quarter of 2024 amounted to $ 635 million. And the number of its clients exceeds 100 thousand companies around the world.
At the end of October, the company's owner decided to liquidate the Belarusian office. The HTP website says that 45 employees worked for it. At the same time, information about the company's Minsk office is still on its website.
