Russia Faces Major Problems With Evacuating Its Troops From Syria

The GUR has revealed the details.

Hundreds of Russian soldiers cannot evacuate from Syria. They are afraid that they will be covered by fire on the road from the province of Homs to the airbase in Khmeimim.

This was reported by the GUR (Ukrainian Defence Intelligence).

"Some armed groups are taking advantage of the process of withdrawing Russians from Syria: they hang the Russian flag on their columns as a cover for unimpeded movement, in particular along the M4 highway," the report says.

According to the GUR, Russian Colonel Dmitry Motrenko was even involved in this process, who went to negotiate with representatives of military contingents of other countries in Syria and asked for guarantees of immunity for Russian soldiers who are waiting in the area of the T4 airfield.

"Meanwhile, mercenaries from the so-called Russian PMCs, in particular the "African Corps", have appeared on the territory of Syria. Their task is to protect Russian units that are moving from the depths of Syria to bases on the coast,” the GUR added.
