Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Special Forces Soldier Eliminates Occupier From Two-Kilometer Distance

This is a sniper record.

A special forces soldier of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine set a sniper record. The soldier with the call sign “Lector” eliminated an occupier with a .338LM bullet from a distance of 2,069 meters.

According to the Telegram channel of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the confirmed record for this caliber belongs to the British sniper Craig Harrison, who in 2009, during the war in Afghanistan, successfully hit two Taliban from a distance of 2,475 meters, and damaged their machine gun.

“Harrison fired prone, was in a significantly higher position than his targets. According to the corporal, the accuracy was also facilitated by calm weather and clear visibility. However, before hitting, the British sniper had to make nine sightings,” the Defence Intelligence explains.

“Lector”, in turn, before setting the record, was at the same terrain level as the enemy and aimed in the harsh December conditions. The shot was fired while standing in a trench at an occupier who was moving in a landing position. He hit the target on the first try.

“In the conditions of a modern war, you don't have the opportunity to get out of the trench, lie down in a landing position, and so on. Enemy drones do not allow shooting from classic positions,” the fighter said.

Head of the Defence Intelligence Kirylo Budanov also noted the achievement of “Lector”. According to the former, the fighter's masterful work will go down in the history of Ukraine's struggle for freedom.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the soldier has already destroyed more than three dozen targets.

The Defence Intelligence adds that the shot was fired from a Sako M10 rifle.

“But if I had to choose one rifle and one cartridge, I would take the Saԁex Kraken and the .338LM caliber,” the fighter noted.
