He has been waiting for documents for almost a year.
Belarusian volunteer of the Kalinouski regiment Aliaksandr Klachko held a one-man picket in front of the Lithuanian Department of Migration in Vilnius on December 18, writes ‘Zerkalo’.
The purpose of the picket was to draw attention to the problem of legalisation of Belarusians, including volunteers who fought on the side of Ukraine. He warned about his action in advance in his Telegram channel. By the way, December 18 is the International Day of Migrants.
Klachko noted that it was just four years that day since he had been forced to leave Belarus. In Lithuania, he has been waiting for 11 months for the Migration Department's decision on his application for refugee status.
The man came out to the department building with a poster in English: ‘I am an enemy of Belarus. I am an enemy of Russia. What am I for Lithuania?’ He was allowed to hold the event for three hours.
Aliaksandr Klachko is 39 years old. He was born in Baranavichy, an economist by education. He had been staying in Ukraine since the beginning of March 2022, serving in a rocket-artillery unit. He was working in the Bakhmut direction for two months.
