They are in closed camps.
Two thousand North Korean military men have been transferred to the combat units of the Russian army. They joined the Marine Brigade and Airborne Troops Division.
This was stated by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of defence of Ukraine Andriy Chernyak in an interview with ‘Donbass Realia’.
‘Now there are 9 thousand North Korean servicemen in the operational reserve (of the army of the Russian Federation - note), 2 thousand have been transferred to combat units,’ said the MID representative.
Chernyak also noted that given this, it is safe to say that the DPRK military have already joined combat operations. Probably, not all of them are fighting on the front line, but they are already helping Russia in its aggression against Ukraine.
According to the MID, the contingent of North Korean troops in Russia is commanded by three generals. Chernyak noted:
‘They are hidden as much as possible, they are guarded to the maximum extent possible. They are in closed camps, there is training for them, but they are trying to hide them from everyone as much as possible.’
