Timur Olevsky, an opposition Russian journalist and editor of The Insider, said this in a commentary for Channel 24.

He also noted that the Caesar Kunikov large landing ship performed an important function for the occupiers in the south. Thus, it transported a large amount of cargo, including military cargo, equipment and people. Therefore, the loss of the ship may cause serious problems in the Russian logistics.

Olevsky said that the shipwreck has no analogues, because the Russian Federation now does not produce landing ships anymore.

"Apparently, things are so bad that a ship of such importance had no military escort. There was no one who could support and cover it," said the expert.
