'She Was Just Standing There, Staring Straight Before Herself'

Neighbors spoke about a mother suspected of killing her four children in Vorsha.

The children, who were found dead in a flat in Vorsha the day before, were in a socially dangerous situation, they should have been removed from the family, but there was not enough time. This was stated by head of the General Prosecutor's Office Valery Talkachou on air of the "Belarus 1" state TV channel.

We remind you that four of the six children were killed, the two eldest, as it was said in the news item, had not yet returned from school at that time.

A lot of neighbours still do not believe in what happened. At the moment, the reason why the mother could strangle four small children is still unknown. The main version of the neighbours is that the woman did not want to give the children to social care.

"Last year somehow it seemed to me that she had changed, her psyche had changed, because her partner (the father of the last three children) was taken to Medical-Labour Centre," said one of the suspect's neighbours, adding that what happened on February 14 "was scary" and "her eyes yesterday are impossible to forget".

Another woman who lives in the house where the high-profile murder took place said the mother of the murdered children was "nonexistent" after the incident.

"I thought the children were running around, fooling around, then my husband said: 'Go out, there's someone crying very loudly'. I went out - a woman was crying there. We went downstairs and there was this mother of the children standing there, she was "nonexistent", she was just standing there staring straight before herself, not reacting in any way," the neighbour described the situation.

One of the local residents, who often met the suspect in the murder of her children on the playground in the courtyard of the house in summer, admitted that she did not make a negative impression.

"There were children here in the summer on the bench, we were playing all together, talking, communicating, I can not say anything bad. She was always as if disturbed," shared the local resident, adding that the suspect "was always near the kids".

"Previously, social investigations were conducted three times against the family. According to the results of the last one in January this year, all six children were recognised as being in a socially dangerous situation because the parents did not meet the children's basic living needs. They did not fulfil the recommendations of medical workers. There was systematically no food for the children in the house. At the same time, their fathers were leading an immoral lifestyle and did not live with the children," the representative of the Prosecutor General's Office said on air.

Currently, investigative actions are continuing with the detainee. Also, an expert examination has been appointed, which will determine whether she was in an affective state or under the influence of some substances.
