Vitsebsk Resident Shoots Down An Airship

What decision did the court make?

A drunken resident of Vitsebsk destroyed an advertising airship during the Slavic Bazaar in Vitsebsk. He was tried for hooliganism, writes “People's News of Vitsebsk”.

As follows from the case materials, on one of the festival days a drunk man was walking along Tolstoy Street in the regional center. His attention was drawn to an airship filled with helium, which was located near the trade exhibition of the Vitba confectionery factory.

The court found that the man, out of hooligan motives, struck the airship, as a result of which its shell was damaged and the gas with which it was filled leaked out.

After this, the man was detained by factory employees working at the festival, and later handed over to the summoned police.

The Vitsebsk resident was accused of hooliganism, and the cost of the airship he destroyed, taking into account the helium that filled it, was estimated at 5,955 rubles.

On February 9, the Kastrychnitski District Court of Vitsebsk found the man guilty under Part 1 of Article 339 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Belarus and sentenced him to 240 hours of community service. He must also pay the factory 5,955 rubles as compensation, and the state — 297 rubles and 75 rubles as fines.
