The global goal of the Russian rebels from the Russian Volunteer Corps, the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Sibir Battalion, who recently launched a raid on the territory of the Russian Federation, is the liberation of their country from the dictatorship.

“If we talk specifically about this operation – it’s going on. The hysteria of Russian propagandists, the hysteria of a person similar to Putin, the official voice of the Kremlin – Peskov, who has already frequent statements on this matter, is a vivid confirmation of this," Andriy Yusov, a representative of the GUR (Ukrainian Defence Intelligence), said on the air.

He also added that given the information from international media and partners, the raid turned out to be a successful operation.

"Although the ruscists tried to deny it, today international analysts and sources that our partners have indicated that the border in that direction was broken and it was a successful operation. The minimum goal has been achieved – hundreds of invaders have been eliminated – more than 600 killed and even more wounded. A lot of weapons were destroyed and the most important thing is that the operation is ongoing now. Yes, this helped, among other things, the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine," Yusov explained.

According to the representative of the GUR, shortly before the start of the operation, Russian General Lapin came to this area to make sure that the defence of the Russian Federation in this direction was reliable.

“He reported that the border is completely locked, no one will pass. But as we can see, the Russian Volunteer Corps, the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Sibir Battalion demonstrated that this is not the case at all. Therefore, they were forced to transfer troops from other areas, including from the front line in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories," Yusov said.
