‘Nothing Like This Has Happened before’: Another Wave Of Unplanned Inspections At Belarusian State University

This time in the classrooms.

There is a new wave of unscheduled inspections at BSU, this time in classrooms. This became known to former associate professor of BSU, specialist in international politics Roza Turarbekova. She noted live on Euroradio that nothing like this had happened before, since usually checks were of a “bureaucratic nature” when documentation was reviewed.

“Now they come to the classroom to check what you give to the students there. I don’t remember anything like this,” says Turarbekova. Attention is paid not only to the content of lectures, but also to whether the teacher and students are late.

“I don’t understand who they are going to check,” continues Roza Turarbekova. “After all, the most active people have already been fired. Nevertheless, these lists are compiled again and again.”

It recently became known that the faculties of BSU have established “commissions on loyalty to the regime”, which decide whether to make a contract with an employee or not.
