On the night of March 4-5, 2024, a special GUR (Ukrainian Defence Intelligence) unit of the "Group 13" attacked the patrol ship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation Sergei Kotov (Project 22160 Patrol Ship).

According to the GUR, the relevant mission took place in cooperation with the naval forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

As a result of the Magura V5 naval drone strike, the Russian Project 22160 ship Sergei Kotov received damage to the stern and both sides.

"Kotov was targeted in the territorial waters of Ukraine, not far from the Kerch Strait. The cost of the sunken ship is about $65 million," the report reads.

Recall that on the night of March 4 to 5, residents of the Crimean Peninsula heard explosions on the southern coast and near the Crimean Bridge.

Propaganda Telegram channels claimed that the Crimean peninsula was under attack by UAVs that were hit from the air and sea. They suggested that the military facilities of the Russian Federation in Kerch, Feodosia and the Crimean Bridge were under threat. The author suggests that the target could also be a patrol ship Sergei Kotov. Subsequently, Russian channels published footage of the ship being defeated.
