His wife's phone has been seized by the FSB.
On March 6, 2024, Belarusian Mikalai Aliakseyeu was killed in the town of Olonets in Russia's Karelia under so far unclear circumstances. Russian media report that he was killed by FSB officers during his arrest.
One of Mikalai's sons has confirmed the death of his father.
Ulad, 24, said that his mother - the wife of the activist - had gone to the morgue. Her phone had been seized from her by the FSB.
"Dad has four children. I'm a complete copy of him. And I was his favourite. We were always together," Ulad says. "Dad was a wonderful man. He could not shoot someone. He was a deep believer, he prayed all the time. We went to the church together".
According to his son, Mikalai Aliakseyeu had recently been working on watch.
