A Belarusian woman is worried because of a nuclear waste burial ground.
News about a nuclear waste burial site in Belarus has appeared in the media, writes a reader of Charter97.org:
- I remember how during the construction of the nuclear power plant Belarusians were assured that the burial ground would be located in the vast expanses of Russia, somewhere far beyond the Urals. And now we have what we have.
The station was built on the cleanest territory of Belarus, and it seems to me, as to a common person, only to bring it closer to the border with Lithuania. It seems that the location of the station was dictated from Moscow. The station was put into operation with numerous violations and stops.
The main thing was to build it, but no one took care of where to get rid of the excess electricity. It can't be preserved in a jar. And now they are bringing a cable to our village of 10 houses, half of which are empty, and motivating pensioners to install electric boilers. Electricity is cheap for them.
Our neighbour pays only 50 rubles a month for heating with electricity. Life is like a fairy tale. The neighbour is very happy with the power plant, because he does not need to carry firewood. The fate of the next generations is of little concern to him. The waste will be buried somewhere.
And then comes the question of a burial ground. Where to build it? And the Lukashists propose to build it in the exclusion zone. And yes, of course, it will not be Kolia or Viktar Lukashenka who will build and work at this burial ground, but common Belarusians, who will be given a ticket to the other world after the construction, and their relatives will be awarded with medals. And where will they search for workers for this burial ground? Apparently, they will be sent from Medical-Labour Centres or from prisons.
There's no profit in it, just to mess up. To everyone and everywhere.
