Political Scientist: Lukashenka Announces Plan B

The Kremlin instructed the dictator what to say.

Lukashenka said that "Poland and the Baltic countries are being turned into a bridgehead for NATO." The dictator also added that there are "an immoderate number of troops" near the borders of his country. Ukrainian military expert Oleksandr Musienko says that Lukashenka is aggravating the situation in favour of Putin with his statements.

The expert said this on the air of the telethon, TSN reports.

“I think he's sending signals from the Kremlin. Like, let's negotiate. He said that it is necessary to negotiate, neither side won they say. If you do not want to, there will be an escalation scenario, a nuclear threat. He talks about it all the time," Musienko explained.

The expert added that such statements by the dictator of Belarus are focused not on Ukraine, but on Kyiv's partners – the EU and NATO.

"Lukashenka says that it is as if drones from Lithuania are flying around Minsk. These are such signals, they say, reduce support for Ukraine, let's agree on something. Because Russia can proliferate nuclear weapons. This is the scenario of such a "plan B" from Putin: if something does not go according to plan in Ukraine, it is necessary to extend it to Lithuania and blackmail the West," explained Oleksandr Musienko.
