Ukrainian Drone Attacked Rare Russian Radar Station In Orenburg Region

The UAV covered more than 1,800 kilometers — that's a new record.

On May 26, a GUR (Ukrainian Defence Intelligence) drone attacked the Voronezh M early warning radar station located in the city of Orsk, Orenburg region of the Russian Federation.

A source from the GUR told Ukrainska Pravda about it.

"The Ukrainian drone covered a distance of more than 1,800 kilometers to the enemy object, setting a new record for the range of destruction for kamikaze drones."

The consequences of the strike are being specified.

Russian publics wrote that a UAV "fell" near Orsk, and the target of the drone "may have been a military facility."

Previously, the most distant target attacked by Ukrainian drones was a facility in the city of Salavat of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation, located 140 kilometers closer to the Ukrainian border compared to Orsk.

Reference: the Voronezh M is a part of Russian long-range over-the-horizon radar stations system. They are designed to detect space and aerodynamic objects, in particular, ballistic and cruise missiles. This radar operates in the meter wavelength range and has a target detection range of up to 6000 km.
