Ukrainian Finds Gap In Closed Belarusian Border, Decides To Earn Some Money

A local resident was identified in the Volyn region of Ukraine who was engaged in the storage and sale of cigarettes with excise stamps of Belarus, the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine reports.

When law enforcement officers came to search the man’s place, he tried to set fire to the illegal products, trying to hide evidence of his illegal actions.

BES officers confiscated more than 5,000 packs of cigarettes produced by the Grodno Tobacco Factory. The products indicate that the goods were manufactured in April 2024.

Mobile phones, bank cards, ammunition and alcohol with counterfeit excise stamps were also seized. BES representatives are currently investigating the routes of entry of Belarusian cigarettes into Ukrainian territory.
