State Border Committee Claims Russian Volunteer Corps Coming Up To Border With Belarus

They allegedly have found a "cache with explosives" in the same direction.

The State Border Committee says the Russian Volunteer Corps has entered the band of responsibility of the Zhytomyr border detachment.

"Reconnaissance of the area and active intelligence activities have been recorded, including with reaching the state border of the Republic of Belarus," the agency states.

Also the SBC states reconnaissance flying of Ukrainian drones along the border with Belarus, against which they are using standard weaponry and technical means of electronic warfare.

"Thus, on June 26, the border patrol from the border outpost of the Mazyr border guard detachment prevented a violation of airspace by a quadcopter moving from the Ukrainian territory deep into the Republic of Belarus in Elsk district of Homel region, using combat weapons and means of suppression. The unmanned aerial vehicle was forced to land 150 metres from the state border. Video files were found on the flash card of the UAV, the analysis of which indicates that the aircraft was carrying out reconnaissance of industrial facilities located in the border area, as well as border infrastructure," reads the press release.

The agency also claims a cache "with components for making improvised explosive devices" found in the same direction.

"Containers with 2 kilograms of plastic explosive, executive devices-fuses with fuses and detonators to them were found," the SBC states.

"Border service bodies in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence are carrying out a set of measures to provide additional cover for the state border, strengthen control over the airspace and compliance with the regime on the border territory," the statement said.
