China And Belarus Train Joint Airport Assault Operation Near Poland

A Hong Kong newspaper drew attention to the unusual “legend” of the exercises.

Chinese and Belarusian troops practiced seizing an airport during joint “anti-terrorism” exercises Eagle Assault, writes the Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post.

According to the publication, the exercises took place near the city of Brest, which is located 28 km from the border with Ukraine and Poland.

“Belarusian-Chinese air search assault groups worked on searching for a base camp of a target terrorist organization. And after its discovery, they landed from Mi-8MTV-5 helicopters,” the Belarusian MoD reported.

Among other things, an operation was practiced to take control of the airport, which, according to the scenario, was captured by a “terrorist organization.”

The newspaper notes that these were the first joint maneuvers of the two countries.
