'Amnesty' In Lukashenka’s Style: Political Prisoner Was Detained The Same Day When He Was Release From Prison

And they sent him back.

On June 20, the trial of Siarhei Dzetsuk began in the Barysay district court. A month later, judge Lyudmila Zinkevich found the political prisoner guilty under Art. 411 of the Criminal Code (Malicious disobedience to the demands of the colony administration) and sentenced him to another year in prison, writes the Viasna Human Rights Center.

Let us remind you that the man was released after the first verdict in March 2024 and was immediately detained as part of a new criminal case.

Siarhei Dzetsuk is the son of former Belarusian State University of Transport professor Valeryia Dzetsuk, who was tried for taking a photo with the national flag. Human rights activists reported that the man was accused of violence or the threat of violence against an police officer (Article 364 of the Criminal Code). On March 5, 2021, they came to the apartment where Siarhei lives for an inspection. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on February 28, near the village of Asautsy, several women held a picket with white-red-white flags and a poster with the inscription “Zmagarki [protesters - Ed.] of the whole world! We congratulate you on the holiday of March 8”.
