Russian Federation Troops Enter Kharkiv Region From Other Side, Advance

The map is published.

The armed forces of the Russian Federation have made a limited cross-border raid in the north of Kharkiv region. This was reported by analysts of the Institute for the Study of War in their daily report for July 24.

‘On July 24, Russian forces carried out a limited cross-border attack to the north-west of the city of Kharkiv,’ the report reads.

The AFU General Staff said the occupiers attacked near Sotnitsky Kazachok on the border with Belgorod region, but the ISW did not observe visual evidence that the Russians occupied positions in the settlement after the raid. Analysts also believe that the Russian Armed Forces do not have a long-term presence in the settlement.

In addition, the Russian military advanced in the north-west in Kharkiv region. According to geolocation footage from July 23, the occupiers had success west of Field Street in Hlyboke. According to Russian sources, the occupiers allegedly captured ‘all or almost all’ of Hlyboke despite Ukrainian counterattacks. Analysts said this was ‘broadly consistent with evidence of a Russian advance towards Field Street’.

ISW reported that during July 23 and 24, positional fighting continued at Hlyboke, Vovchanske, Tikhe, and Starytsa. A Russian military correspondent claimed that the Defence Forces were counterattacking near Starytsa, and there was allegedly small arms fighting near high-rise buildings in Vovchansk.
