Two Countries To Hand Over Leopard Tanks To Ukraine

The Netherlands has announced the delivery to Ukraine of a batch of Leopard 2A4 tanks, which the country purchased together with Denmark, the ‘European Truth’. writes.

The batch of 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks will be sent to Ukraine this summer.

Last year, the Netherlands, together with Denmark, purchased 14 second-hand Leopard 2A4 tanks. They were overhauled by the German firm of Rheinmetall.

Within days, the last two Leopard 2 tanks are undergoing control tests as part of the delivery.

The first 12 tanks have already been prepared for shipment. All 14 tanks will be delivered at the same time by the end of the summer.

‘Ukraine urgently needs more military support given the heavy fighting on the battlefield. These tanks can play an important role for the Ukrainian army in defending against Russian forces. Together with allies and partners, the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary,’ said Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans.
