Bloomberg: Trump Refuses To Debate With Harris

The Vice President of the United States responded with sharp criticism of the refusal.

The team of former US President Donald Trump refused to debate with Vice President Kamala Harris after the Democratic candidate summoned the Republican representative to a previously scheduled face-to-face meeting.

According to Bloomberg, Trump's speaker Steven Cheung said that the plans for the debate “cannot be completed until the Democrats officially decide on their candidate”.

“It would be inappropriate to plan with Harris because the Democrats may well change their minds,” Cheung argues.

The Vice President responded with sharp criticism of this position of the Trump team.

“What happened to 'anytime, anywhere?'” she wrote on social media in response.

As noted, the Democrats are ready to actually nominate Harris until August 7. She is now the only announced Democratic presidential candidate and has the support of almost all leading party figures.

The debate between Trump and incumbent US President Joe Biden on June 27 played in favor of the Republican and was a blow to the Democrats. The president's unsuccessful performance caused panic in the party about his age and ability to defeat Trump, which eventually led Biden out of the race and led to his replacement by Harris.

On Thursday, the vice president said she was “ready for a debate with Donald Trump” and accused him of “backing away” from the September 10 event agreement hosted by ABC News.

“Voters deserve to see the split screen that exists in this race on the debate stage,” Harris told reporters after returning to Washington from a speech in Houston.

The publication recalled that the second debate between Biden and Trump was to be held on September 10. They were agreed even before the president withdrew from the race. However, on Tuesday, Trump, although he agreed to a debate with Harris, suddenly announced that he wanted to change the host company - instead of ABC News, he wants a conservative and more favorable to him Fox News.
