China Refusing Belarusian Products

A drop in imports has been recorded.

This year, China has reduced imports from Belarus for a number of food products. This is evidenced by data from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.

In 2024, China continues to purchase certain food products from Belarus.

At the same time, for some types of products, there is a decrease in the volume of purchases both in value and in quantity, myfin.by noted.

In January-June 2024, China imported rapeseed oil from Belarus for about $130 million. Compared to the same period last year, purchases decreased by more than $45 million.

Imports of poultry meat and edible by-products from the Republic of Belarus decreased from $172.2 million in the first half of 2023 to $94.4 million for the same period this year. Purchases of frozen beef dropped from $46.8 million to $41.6 million.

A decline in imports was also recorded for other food items:

whey — minus 9 million dollars;

milk and cream, condensed or with added sugar or other sweeteners — minus 7.2 million dollars.
