Allegedly, Bulgakov, who was responsible for the logistics of the troops in the Russian Defense Ministry, received kickbacks from the owner of a meat-packing plant, Alexander Mikhailenko, who, in order to save money, replaced beef in the dry rations of Russian soldiers with cheaper pork.

And since the product labeling was fake, it was consumed, including by Muslims serving in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces, which is directly prohibited by their religion and is considered a grave sin.

At present, Mikhailenko, who is the founder of a number of livestock enterprises, including the Krasnodar company Trading House Yaseni, has been taken into custody.
