Main Intelligence Directorate: Russian Tu-22M3 Crashed At ‘Olenya’ Aerodrome

The Russian military-industrial complex is not able to produce such aircraft.

An important event this weekend was the defeat of the Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bomber at the Olenya airfield.

This was said by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (MID) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Andriy Yusov on the air of TV marathon, commenting on the fact that President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the warriors of the MID's 9th Department for long-range strikes, writes unian.net.

‘We do not comment on what and where, but the Supreme commander-in-chief praised long-range strikes. It is clear that it is not difficult to guess the direction here,’ he said.

‘As for the fact of the hit, yes, we confirm the case - something did hit somewhere. We can confirm the fact of hitting and damaging the strategic bomber,’ Yusov said and added that this is very important because the modern Russian military-industrial complex is not able to produce such aircraft, because it is what is left of the USSR.

Yusov added that no matter how far the occupiers hide the weapons they use to kill Ukrainians, ‘the natural result is their destruction.’

Yusov noted that the Olympics are now underway and the whole world is watching. ‘But we have a big war and we have our own achievements. And these are really Olympic achievements of Ukrainian security and defence forces, special forces and MID,’ he said.

‘Massive cyberattacks continue against Russia. Incidents continue at Russian refineries and other facilities that are involved in the war against the Ukrainians. And, of course, Olenya, this is special news and to a certain extent dessert for Ukrainians for this weekend,’ he emphasised.
