Lukashenka Rarely Leaves His Palace After His Sick Leave

A trip to Valaam showed that the dictator was in a terrible state of health.

In early July, Aliaksandr Lukashenka flew to the SCO summit in Astana, and according to the Rain TV channel, his health deteriorated sharply there ("his face is pale, shiny, his speech is not very confident"), writes Salidarnasc.

Returning from the trip, on July 6, at the holiday "Kupalye" ("Aleksandria Gathers Friends"), the ruler said:

"The month of July is always a hard time. There are a lot of mass events... And there was an additional burden associated with Kazakhstan, Astana, 4,000 kilometers away. I say this because these are difficult days.

And on my way home, I made a plan in advance that I should land here. The airport is good, because there is a lot of work in the east. Well, I will be working in the near future from here, watching how we prepare for the harvest."

Lukashenka's respite was called "sick leave" in the network. How did the ruler behave further and whether there were signs of his poor health in the following weeks?

Despite the summer, almost all events are held at the Palace of Independence.

In the past, Lukashenka actively used the summer period to travel around the country, often getting to its most remote corners. But those days are gone, now the departure of the ruler of Belarus outside Minsk is already an event.

After indirectly admitting his health problems, Lukashenka appeared in front of the cameras on the fourth day. He met the First Ladies of Nigeria and Zimbabwe at the Palace of Independence.

Then Lukashenka seemed to decide to check his body: on July 11, he was in Vitebsk at the opening of the Slavianski Bazaar, and on the 13th he came to the missile regiment in the Luninets district. But it became clear that the pace was too high for him.

In the Luninets district, after leaving the car, the ruler anxiously asked the greeter if the weather in the region was hot. Judging by the video footage, he went to the meeting limping, and at the first opportunity he tried to lean on something.

Then there was a meeting with the military – the press service did not show any more footage of Lukashenka on his feet during that trip.

Subsequently, almost all public events with the participation of the ruler also took place in his actual residence.

The consequences of the disaster in the Homel region: Lukashenka refused to leave the place, staying in Minsk

In mid-July, the weather brought great damage to the Homel region: the large city of Mazyr was left without water and electricity. At such moments, politicians try to prove themselves by personally coming to the scene. Lukashenka has done the same in the past. But this time he remained to observe what was happening from the capital, sending the new head of his Administration, Dzmitry Krutoi, to the region.

On July 16, the press service of the ruler reported that Lukashenka "keeps under personal control" the restoration work to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. Two days later, despite numerous unresolved problems in his region, Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Ivan Krupko had to come to Minsk to the ruler with a report.

On July 19, Lukashenka held a meeting at the Independence Palace to overcome the consequences of the disaster, making complaints to citizens: "No one asks the question: what did you do to overcome this catastrophe?" and, apparently, finally closing this topic.

Harvesting campaign: Lukashenka's only foray into the field – and that to the Minsk district

This year, the ruler, perhaps, pays less attention to the harvesting campaign than ever before. Yes, he still often speaks about harvesting in his traditional style: "You need iron discipline", "The Burclover – you need to buy it centrally and expand crops". But he does it in the same Palace of Independence, and not when visiting the fields.

He made his first and so far only departure on July 24, after the harvesting reached its peak. And that trip was not far away – to the Voskhod agricultural enterprise, located near Minsk. There, Lukashenka inspected the rapeseed crops.

Then Pul Pervogo his Telegram channel announced the inspection of the fields "from the air" by the ruler in the Minsk region, but at the moment they did not even show any footage from Lukashenka's helicopter.

Trip to Valaam: Lukashenka's health problems have become apparent again

On July 25, Lukashenka arrived on the island of Valaam to hold an informal meeting with his Russian counterpart. Kremlin journalists, unlike his press service, did not spare the ruler of Belarus.

Lukashenka's footage appeared online with a skewed face (apparently, it hurt him so much to move around).

Also a picture with a heavy guest against the backdrop of a sporty Putin.

We will see how many times Lukashenka will risk getting out of the Palace of Independence before the end of the summer, but we can predict that these trips will be few.
