Powerful Attack On Crimea: Ferry Crossing In Kerch, Speedboat In Chernomorsk Hit

The Russian Pantsir-S1 was firing on its own.

On the night of August 16, drones attacked the occupied Sevastopol in Crimea. The occupation governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev wrote about it on Telegram.

For example, at 01:46 a.m. he wrote that the air defence systems were working in Sevastopol.

‘According to preliminary information, one UAV has already been shot down over the sea area,’ he noted.

Later he said that Russian air defence forces allegedly shot down already 3 UAVs over the waters of the Black Sea.

It should be noted that the ‘Crimean Wind’ monitoring channel published a post with footage showing the work of the Russian air defence forces.

Also the administrators of the channel said that the Russians were blocking the bridge over the Kerch Strait. In addition, according to unverified reports, there was recorded a fly-in on Mount Mithridat, where the Pantsir-S1 SAM system was located. After the explosion, a strong fire started. However, there is an assumption that the complex itself was not destroyed. Most likely, its missiles went astray and it fired ‘wherever it could’, including at its own.

Later, the speaker of the ‘South’ volunteer army, head of the Public Council at the Odesa RMA Serhiy Bratchuk confirmed the UAV attack on the occupied Crimea on his Telegram account. He said that the ferry crossing in Kerch, as well as a speedboat in Chernomorsk were hit.

It should be noted that the Russian Defence Ministry has not yet reacted to the UAV attack.
