German Police Report How Many Illegal Migrants Arrived Via ‘Belarusian Route’

German MPs requested a report from the government.

The German Federal Police recorded 3,117 unauthorized entries via the so-called “Belarusian route” in 2024, according to the federal government's response to a request from the Alternative for Germany parliamentary group, zerkalo.io writes.

According to the response, in the first half of 2024, the three most common nationalities among illegal migrants were Afghans — 1,140 cases, Syrians — 725 cases, and Somalis — 243 cases.

German MPs were interested in how the number of illegal entries into Germany via the so-called “Belarusian route” changed from July 2021 monthly and annually until the end of June 2024.
