President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris met them at the airport.
The plane carrying U.S. citizens freed in Russia as part of a large exchange landed at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington. Journalists Evan Gershkovich and Alsu Kurmashova, and former Marine Paul Whelan were on board.

We remind you that on August 1, there was a large exchange of prisoners between Russia and Belarus on the one hand and the United States and Germany on the other. In total, the countries exchanged 24 prisoners.
