After the statements about Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry said that the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the sabotage by the Armenian authorities of the opening of transport communications through the Syunik district are not true, writes The Moscow Times.
"Yesterday's statement by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry not only causes frank regret, but also casts doubt on the constructive involvement of the Russian Federation in the process of settling relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan," said the press secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Ani Badalyan<.B>.
According to her, the false and biased comments of Russian Foreign Ministry officials regarding Armenia are not new and Yerevan tries not to react to them.
She specified that in the statement of the heads of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia of November 9, 2020 on Karabakh, "there is not a single key point that would not be irreversibly violated", despite the presence of Russia's signature on the document.
"We confirm that the opening of regional communications within the framework of this project can take place literally at any time. The Crossroads of the World project received a positive response from a number of international partners. We urge our colleagues from the Russian Foreign Ministry not to sabotage its implementation and not to undermine efforts to achieve peace in the South Caucasus with biased statements," she said.
On the eve, Lavrov said that Yerevan was sabotaging the agreement regarding the unblocking of communications through the Syunik district, and Russia was in favor of an early conclusion of peace between the two countries.
"Unfortunately, as for communications through the Syunik district of Armenia, it is the Armenian leadership that is sabotaging the agreement signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. It is difficult to understand the meaning of such a position," the minister said in an interview for Channel One.
