The West has its own red lines.
The West should not take Putin's threats to use nuclear weapons seriously amid discussions about lifting restrictions on the use of long-range weapons by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against Russia. Russia is unlikely to decide to start a war with NATO. This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski in an interview with European Pravda.
“I would be very surprised if he was crazy enough to start a war with NATO. Also, his threats about nuclear weapons remain empty,” the politician emphasized.
According to him, Russian airfields can be a legitimate target for strikes, even if they are located deep in enemy territory. After all, they house Russia's strategic aviation and launch missiles that strike Ukraine.
Sikorski said he did not understand the delays in lifting restrictions on the use of Western weapons by Ukraine, especially in the context of war crimes committed by the Russian Federation.
“I hear from Western journalists about Putin's “red lines” and Putin's threats of escalation. But we also have our own red lines, and for some reason no one ever asks about them. And secondly, I don't think there is anything that Putin has not done yet, but will do in response to our actions,” the Polish Foreign Minister added.
