Russian troops launched a missile attack on a centre for social and psychological rehabilitation of children and an orphanage in Ukrainian Sumy on September 1. There were 18 casualties, including six children, local authorities and media reported.
The centre for socio-psychological rehabilitation of children and an orphanage in Sumy was hit in the evening of September 1.
As reported by Sumy municipal council, it is known about 13 victims. Four were placed in hospital, the same number received medical care on the spot, five will be treated on an outpatient basis.
Later, the town prosecutor's office specified that 18 people were injured, including six children - three boys aged 7, 9 and 13 and three girls aged 7, 15 and 17. The educational institution and at least five neighbouring multi-storey buildings were destroyed.
The head of the Sumy municipal military administration, Oleksiy Drozdenko, wrote that ‘all the injured are receiving the necessary assistance’.
