Netherlands Hands Over Alkmaar Ship To Ukraine

The country has until the end of 2025 to hand over one more.
The Netherlands has handed over an Alkmaar mine countermeasures ship to Ukraine. The country is to hand over another one by the end of 2025. This was reported by the commander of the AFU Naval Forces Alexei Neizhpapa on Sunday, October 12.
"We recently received an Alkmaar-type mine countermeasure ship from our partners, and we expect another one to be handed over by the end of the year. Crew training is already underway," Neijpapa noted.
He said that on October 12 he met with a Dutch delegation headed by the country's Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans and Commander-in-Chief of the Dutch Armed Forces General Onno Eichelsheim.
Neizhpapa noted that during the meeting they discussed the security situation in the Black Sea region and prospects for further cooperation.
The Commander of the Armed Forces Navy also thanked the Netherlands for its efforts and cooperation within the Coalition of Ukrainian Maritime Capabilities.
