IDF Chief Of General Staff Announces 'formula For Victory' Over Hamas
Eyal Zamir

Israel launches Operation Homecoming.

IDF Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir issued a statement on the return of hostages from Hamas captivity, Details reported.

The IDF is launching Operation Homecoming, he announced. "In a few hours, we will all be reunited again - one people. We will rejoice at the sight of the living hostages returning to their families, and we will be saddened at the sight of the return of the bodies of those killed. Among them are our heroic soldiers who died in battle."

"The military pressure we applied over the past two years, together with the final political process, created a victory over Hamas," Zamir said.

"We will continue to act to create a security system in which the Gaza Strip will no longer pose a threat to Israel," the Chief of General Staff promised.

The State of Israel is in the midst of a war on several fronts, Zamir said. "With our actions, we are re-shaping the face of the Middle East and our security strategy for years to come. New challenges await us; we will continue to remain alert in the war for our existence and security."

"With the return of the hostages, we will achieve one of the important goals for which we started the war - a goal that is a national, moral, Jewish obligation," the Chief of General Staff emphasized.

"The safety of our troops in battle and the safety of the hostages in captivity have been central considerations throughout the war," Zamir continued. - We acted with precision and professionalism, systematically and responsibly. We made difficult decisions so as not to jeopardize the safety of the hostages and to significantly reduce casualties among our troops."

The Chief of General Staff said that the IDF has completed its regrouping in the Gaza Strip "in its full strength."

"We are ready to strike any enemy who dares to raise his head. We entered the battle on October 7 after a stunning failure that will remain in the memory of every Israeli fighter and commander. We will never cease to apply the lessons of that day so that the IDF will be ready to fulfill its mission and protect the citizens of the state from any threat. From that crack rose a generation of victory that turned a day of hell into a turning point. We entered the war for existence, and we broke the enemy."

Zamir suggested turning the day of the return of the hostages into a day of national unity. "This is a time to strengthen and renew our value of camaraderie - as an army and as a united Israeli society."

"IDF commanders and its fighters, I saw your determination to bring the hostages home. I saw your eyes shining through the fatigue, I saw your faith in the rightness of our cause. You did it, you brought this day," the Chief of General Staff continued. - In my thoughts are all 915 IDF soldiers who have fallen in this campaign. We will not forget - not for a moment - the cost of this loss. We will continue to support them and their families on this journey."
