Operation Successor will fail.
The "Salidarnasts" website writes why the operation "successor" in Belarus will end lamentably for Lukashenko. The publication cites the example of Nicaragua, where the local dictator Daniel Ortega introduced the post of "co-president" and appointed his wife Rosario Murillo to it:
- In the case of Nicaragua, the success of introducing the post of "co-president" does not guarantee success in the transfer of power. After all, Murillo herself is not much younger than her husband, and among their children there are no candidates for the next "co-president".
To be able to appoint a co-leader who will then successfully continue the work of his predecessor, it is necessary that the state institutions work properly and that the senior leader can solve the problems arising in the process of co-leadership.
In our situation, the potential "senior leader" can solve current problems only with the help of external force. And there is no doubt that with the appointment of a "junior" something in this regard will change. After all, to change the situation in the country it is necessary not to correct the previous ineffective model of state governance, which has led the country to a dead end, but to carry out systemic reforms, including political reforms, and not "soft" but real ones. The current regime, including the one on the artificial life-support apparatus called "successor", cannot do that. Therefore, even if Belarus really tries to create an institution of "co-management" in order to preserve the existing political and economic model, the forecast for its preservation is negative.
