The US President stated that "things are going reasonably well".

The meeting between United States President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky began at 8:25 p.m. Minsk time (1:25 p.m. Washington time). The leaders' conversation took place in an informal setting over lunch.

The OBOZ.UA learned about it from the U.S. leader's schedule released by the White House.

As they prepared to greet Vladimir Zelensky at the White House - Marines lined up in front of the entrance.

Donald Trump met Vladimir Zelensky at the entrance to the White House.

Live from Vladimir Zelensky's meeting with Donald Trump in Washington:

Trump and Zelensky discussed yesterday's phone call between the leaders of the U.S. and Russian Federation, among other things, Trump said after meeting with Zelensky. "I think things are going pretty well."

"We met with major U.S. energy companies. They are ready to help after all the attacks on our infrastructure," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president also said he met with military companies and that they talked about air defense.

Secret maps handed to Trump

Ukrainian delegation, during a meeting with US President Donald Trump, handed him detailed maps. These maps indicate the vulnerabilities of the Russian defense-industrial complex and key facilities, the impact on which could accelerate the end of the war.

According to the interlocutor of OBOZ.UA, the handed maps are a strategic tool. The maps show pain points of Russia's defense and military economy that can be pressed to force Putin to end the war.

Trump's statement at the beginning of the meeting

"Ukrainian President Zelensky has endured a lot, he really has, he's endured a lot, and we, frankly, have endured it with him. So today we're going to talk about what happened yesterday. About my phone conversation with President Putin, and I think things are going pretty well. It started with Alaska, where it seems like there was some discussion about certain recommendations, and we want to see if we can do that. That was a long time ago, during the Biden administration, I came here, we inherited that and we'd like to see if we can finish it, put an end to it. We want to. So many people have died in this war and we're going to end it. So, I just want to sincerely thank you all," Trump said.

Donald Trump: "I'm honored to be with a very strong leader. This is a man who has been through a lot. A man that I get along with very well. Zelensky has been through a lot. And we've been through it with him, I'll be honest. Yesterday was a big call with Putin, we're going to talk about it. It started in Alaska, where certain developments were discussed, we'll see if we can do it."

Vladimir Zelensky: "Congratulations on your success in the ceasefire in the Middle East. You have done it. And now is the moment to end the Russian war against Ukraine. We realize that Putin is not ready, but I am confident that with your help we can stop this war. We need that very much. Thank you for our calls. I had a chance to meet with the energy companies yesterday and they are ready to help. I also had meetings with military companies thanks to you."

Donald Trump: "I think he looks very good in that suit. I think people have noticed. It's very stylish I like it."

Trump's answers to reporters' questions

- Biden was afraid of escalation, and you're going to let Ukraine beat deep into Russia?"

- We're going to talk about that. You are right, it is an escalation, but we will talk about it.

Orban is a leader we love. This is a safe country that has done a very good job, he's a good leader. He doesn't have a lot of the problems that other countries have, so we decided we would go there.

It will probably be a bilateral meeting with Putin, but we will be in touch with President Zelensky. There's a lot of bad blood between the two presidents. These two leaders don't like each other, and we want everyone to be comfortable.

One way or another the three of us will be involved, but it will be separate.

I think Putin wants to end the war, we talked to him for 2.5 hours. And I think Zelensky wants to end it. Now we have to do it.

- What concessions are you willing to make? Are you ready to give up NATO? Americans are tired of wars abroad, and Trump said we need Tomahawks too

- Thank you for your question. I think first of all, we need to sit down and talk. Secondly, we need a ceasefire.

We want peace. Putin doesn't want peace. So we need pressure on him. We understand what we need to push Putin to negotiate. We are ready to talk in any-any format.

We are not talking about NATO or not NATO. It is very important for Ukrainians, but of course it will be up to the allies to decide. It is more important for Ukrainians to have strong security guarantees, and NATO is the best one. But weapons are very important. And security guarantees between President Trump are the most important document because the US is very strong.

Question to Trump:

- Who is a better negotiator, Zelensky or Putin? - I think they both do a wonderful job in that sense. We have to reduce the hatred between them a little bit.

- When we were in Israel, there was a lot of talk about the difference in diplomacy between Presidents Trump and Biden. What do you see as the difference? - President Trump has a big opportunity to end this war. President Biden is not president right now, so he doesn't have the opportunity to end this war. And President Trump has shown the world that he can lead a ceasefire in the Middle East, so I hope he does that and we also have that success I will say the big difference is one is extremely competent and the other is extremely incompetent.

We're not losing people, we're not wasting money, we're getting paid for ammunition and missiles... we have a very favorable agreement with NATO ... that's not why we're here. We are here to save thousands of lives.

The meeting between Trump and Zelensky has ended

The Ukrainian delegation led by the president left the White House. Media reported that Vladimir Zelensky would later hold a press briefing.
