Britain's defense secretary named the main condition.
British Defense Secretary John Healey has said European troops are "ready to deploy" to Ukraine in the coming weeks if Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin agree on a ceasefire. This is according to BBC.
When asked if troops could be deployed if an agreement is reached within the next two weeks, Healy said, "If President Trump can broker peace, we would be ready to help secure it."
He added that the Ukrainians should be "the people who will decide how and what" to negotiate in any peace talks.
He said members of the "coalition of the willing" - an alliance of 26 European countries founded in March by British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to secure Ukraine - were "developing detailed plans in the event of a cease-fire."
According to the plans, British troops could join a multinational force to secure Ukraine's border. The work of "over 200 military planners from more than 38 countries over the past six months" has ensured troops are ready to deploy if needed, Healey said.
Healey claimed the government had expected to spend "well over" £100 million on sending troops to Ukraine, with some of the money already used to prepare for deployment.
He also said Vladimir Putin considers Britain his "number one enemy" because of the country's support for Ukraine. The defense secretary warned of a "new era of threats" and said the risk of a wider conflict in Europe had not been this great since the end of World War II.
Healey also announced that British soldiers would be given new powers to shoot down drones threatening military bases.
He said Russia had lost more than a million men and spent 40 percent of its public spending on the military.
