Mark Rutte will meet with the president of the United States.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to NATO spokeswoman Allison Hart on social network X and an announcement on NATO's website.

According to the alliance spokeswoman, Mark Rutte will be on a visit to Washington, D.C., on October 21-22, where he is scheduled to meet with Donald Trump.

Scheduled media events following the meeting are not expected. There is no word on the program and topic of the meeting.

The visit comes amid a slowdown in preparations for a meeting between Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Budapest.

Reuters journalist Graham Slattery wrote on social network X that Rutte's visit to Washington is linked to the EU's intentions to "respond to Trump's latest diplomatic maneuvers."
