AFU Counteroffensive: Russians Repulsed Near Pokrovsk

New maps have been published.

The AFU fighters during the Dobropillya counter-offensive operation in Donetsk region pushed back the Russian occupants from the village of Kucherov Yar. This is indicated by the map of the Ukrainian analytical project DeepState.

According to DeepState, the enemy is still present in the area of Kucherov Yar, but the so-called "gray zone" has become smaller, that is, Ukrainian fighters in this section of the front have liberated more territory. Kucherov Yar belongs to the Pokrovsky direction of the front.

According to the AFU General Staff, yesterday, October 23, Russian occupants attacked AFU positions 39 times in this direction. The fighting took place in the areas of Nikanorovka, Mirnograd, Novoukrainka, Krasny Liman, Kotlino, Dachne, etc.

In early August, Russian occupation troops went on the offensive in the Pokrovsk direction. They tried to reach the highway that connects Dobropillya (a small town north of Pokrovsk - editor's note) with Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. This is a very important route for the Ukrainian army, as it allows the troops to maneuver.

The enemy used a new tactic for the offensive, which consists in infiltrating small groups of infantry through the positions of the AFU and concentrating forces in the rear of the Ukrainian army for further assaults.

At first, the enemy's new tactics brought some success. The occupants advanced by 10-18 km and approached the highway to Kramatorsk, but the AFU reserves repulsed the enemy. Since August 21, the AFU has been conducting the Dobropolsk counter-offensive operation.

At that time several settlements and 182.8 square kilometers of the Pokrovsky district were liberated. More than 230 square kilometers of territory has been cleared of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
