Russia doesn't stand a chance in the long run.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said that Ukraine is ready to continue the war with Russia for two to three more years, but fears that the conflict could drag on for a decade. In addition, he said, Kiev is concerned about how long the country will be able to withstand the war - in terms of both human losses and the economy.

"I have no doubt that Ukraine will survive as an independent state. Now the main question is how many casualties there will be. [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky told me he hopes: the war will not last ten years, but Ukraine is ready to fight for another two or three years," he said in an interview with The Times.

Interesting is Tusk's statement that Ukraine has the right to strike Russian-linked targets anywhere in Europe. The statement came after a court in Warsaw rejected Germany's extradition request for a Ukrainian diver accused of blowing up the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines in 2022.

The pressure on Russia continues

Tusk said full-scale war was crippling the Russian economy, which he said "has no chance of survival in the long term" and faces "dramatic" problems - amid new US sanctions against oil companies.

After the "coalition of the willing" meeting, European leaders said they hoped a decision could be made before Christmas on whether to grant Ukraine access to frozen Russian assets. British Foreign Secretary Ivette Cooper urged allies to "act now": "We must get to the Russian money. Now that sanctions have started to work, now is the time to increase economic pressure to push Putin to negotiate."

The Polish prime minister, however, said domestic instability will only make Putin more aggressive, and it remains to be seen how "sustainable" US President Donald Trump's tough new approach to Moscow will be.

"The Russians are in the deepest economic crisis. But can we say we are winning? Not at all. They have one serious advantage over the West, especially over Europe: they are ready to fight. And in a war, that is a decisive factor. You cannot win if you are not ready to fight or at least sacrifice something," he emphasized.
