An unexpected transfer of elite units of the Russian army has been recorded in the Azov region, which may indicate that the threat in the Kherson direction will increase.

The head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation of Ukraine Petr Andryushchenko said. "We fix the transfer of marines and Crimean units (marked with two triangles) back to the Zaporizhzhya direction," he wrote in Telegram.

According to him, after staying in Mariupol, elite units of the Russian army are returning to the Azov region, at least partially, in the part that was in the city. The specialist notes that despite previous plans to reinforce the north of Donetschyna, these units were redeployed in columns in the second half of this week in the direction of Berdyansk, "accompanied by police officers."

"Unexpectedly, but now it is worth keeping a closer eye not only on occupied Zaporizhzhya (part of Zaporizhzhya region - ed.), but also on the Kherson direction. Given the mass information thrown in by the Russians about 'control of the islands' and 'preparations for forcing the Dnieper' - it is better to look wider," Andryushchenko said.
