The Turning Point Of The War

Something very important has happened.

Solovyov said that Ukraine's major cities - Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnipro - should be destroyed along with the entire population. If they do not "throw off the Nazi power". There, they say, our people are no longer there, and if they tolerate it, they will recognize Russia's "fury" and be destroyed like Sodom and Gomorrah.

This is a really important statement. Solovyov's positions are all "coordinated" in the highest sense: he has been so deeply infiltrated by Putin that he himself already feels better than his superiors what to say and where to keep silent. So his statement is the turning point of the war.

First, it is an act of farewell. All the rhetoric, all the pathos of the war the Russians have unleashed is "returning their own to their home harbor." They tried to tell us to the last that they didn't want to harm the population, that they were only hitting military targets, and so on. Of course, it was a lie, but they consistently stuck to it. And now for the first time Solovyov says: "If that's the case, then you are strangers - don't let anyone get you! We will destroy you." That's it. The borders of the "Russian world" have ended in the Donbass, which was Putin's last demand.

And although Lavrov tries to cling with arthritic fingers to "other Ukrainian territories that remain under Nazi rule," it doesn't work anymore, and he is immediately and shamefully refuted by Dmitriev, suggesting that Lavrov be excluded from the negotiation process altogether. Solovyov uses his last chance: "revolt against the authorities, and we won't touch you," otherwise "you will be destroyed."

I remember exactly the same rhetoric in February 2022. Putin's first statements (e.g., his February 24th address) were somewhat lulling, saying don't resist, nothing will happen, we'll just throw off your "regime" and that's it. During the first three days of the invasion, the fiasco of the "mongoose" became so obvious that other things began to sound from the mouths of their gang. "Ukraine will be destroyed, surrender, we have nuclear weapons, we will find everyone and kill everyone, arrrryaya". They tried very hard to scare us, because they were very scared themselves. They did NOT expect such a fiasco and realized they had taken a big step towards the abyss.

It was panic then, and it is panic now. They did not prepare for the fact that Trump would not be able or willing to force Ukraine to surrender. Such a thing was not part of their calculations. And now they are alone before a ruthless world, and the red-headed friend in Washington, "our man", "the great conservative and Russophile" turned out to be an enemy even worse and more dangerous than Biden. Putin has failed.

So fasten your seatbelts, the bear is about to start growling very loudly and lunging at the bars of the cage, which is almost closed. It's going to be scary and painful, but don't be afraid. He's growling so desperately because he's even more scared. We have to stand together. We remember: this cage is being closed by Ukraine's resistance and the daily feat of the advanced unit of the entire Ukrainian society - the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
