The Belarusian Foreign Ministry Protested To The Lithuanian Charge D'Affaires A.i.

Charge d'Affaires of Lithuania in Minsk Erikas Vilkanetsas was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the Ministry said.

He was handed a note of protest in connection with the decision of Vilnius to close the common border, which Minsk considered "actions of an anti-people nature."

"The decision, which affected the rights not only of citizens of Belarus, but also citizens of Lithuania, as well as citizens of the European Union and other states, clearly demonstrates Vilnius' disregard for the fundamental principles of freedom of movement," reads the report (quoted by BelTA).

The Foreign Ministry stressed that Lukashenko's regime, unlike the Lithuanian side, advocates the normalization of dialogue.

Lithuania plans to indefinitely close the border with Belarus because of the balloons flying in from the Belarusian side, the government of the republic will discuss this proposal on October 29, said Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginenė.
