Lavrov In Minsk Proposes Non-aggression Pact To EU
Sergey Lavrov

Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact?

Russia is ready to give a guarantee of non-aggression to EU and NATO countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the III Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security on October 28.

The video recording was published on Facebook of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Lavrov complained that in Europe "Russia is indiscriminately accused" of planning to invade NATO and EU countries.

"We have repeatedly said that we have not had and have no intention to attack any country among the current members of NATO and the European Union. We are ready to consolidate this position in future security guarantees for this part of Eurasia, which EU leaders are avoiding considering on a truly collective basis," the Russian minister said. He did not mention that Russia repeatedly made similar statements about "no plans to attack" before its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Lavrov also added that no country or organization "should claim regional dominance."
