The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported the elimination of a Russian serviceman involved in war crimes.

On October 25, 2025, a car exploded in Russia's Kemerovo region, driven by Veniamin Mazzherin, born in 1980.

Mazzherin was a lieutenant colonel and served in the special OMON "Obereg" special unit of the Rosgvardia Directorate.

According to the GUR, the "Obereg" unit is one of those involved in war crimes in Kievshchyna, committed in February-March 2022 during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
