US Bombed Another Ship Off The Coast Of Venezuela

In September, the U.S. military struck three other ships in the Caribbean Sea.

U.S. forces have destroyed a fourth drug-carrying vessel in international waters off the coast of Venezuela, killing four suspected "narco-terrorists," Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth said Oct. 3, CBS News wrote.

"The ship was carrying a significant amount of drugs bound for America to poison our people," he wrote, adding that U.S. intelligence had confirmed "beyond a reasonable doubt" the presence of banned substances on the ship and that the people transporting them were "operating along a known transit route for drug trafficking." Footage released by Hegseth shows the boat being struck by some sort of munition, after which it catches fire and drifts into the sea.

The U.S. military chief did not provide other details about who the alleged attackers were or what organization they belonged to. The strike itself came less than a day after President Donald Trump declared members of the drug cartels terrorists in a notification to Congress and said Washington was now in a state of "armed conflict" with them.

In September, the U.S. military struck three other ships in the Caribbean Sea that the U.S. administration accused of carrying drugs. With the latest attack, at least three of those operations have been against ships coming from Venezuela.
