Russia Blasts OMON Lieutenant Colonel Implicated In Russian Federation Atrocities In Bucha

The operation to liquidate the officer was carried out by Ukrainian intelligence officers.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry on October 25 liquidated 45-year-old Russian Lieutenant Colonel Veniamin Mazzherin, who was involved in war crimes of the occupiers in the Kiev region. This is stated in the report of the GUR on Wednesday, October 29.

According to the intelligence, the occupier's car exploded on the territory of the Kemerovo region of the Russian Federation.

The Russian OMON Lieutenant Colonel Mazzherin participated in the offensive in Kievshchina as a member of the special unit Obereg of the Rosgvardia. The special unit was involved in war crimes and genocide in Bucha and other towns in the Kiev region in February-March 2022.

Ukrainian military intelligence identified war criminals from Obereg by name as early as April 2022 and planned measures aimed at liquidating the list's members, the FSU said.
