Major General Roman Hoffman, currently serving as military secretary to Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, is being considered as a priority candidate to become the next director of the Mossad foreign intelligence service. This was reported by Israeli portal Walla with reference to security sources.
"According to security sources, the main candidate for the post of head of the Mossad is Major General Roman Hoffman, who currently holds the post of military secretary to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu," the report said.
The standard term of office for the head of the Mossad is four years, but the prime minister has the right to extend it for another year.
