Russian Soldiers Near Kharkiv Fight "on Exhaustion" In Summer Uniforms And Hungry

ISW outlined the major changes on the front.

Russian troops are losing more than 12 servicemen a day in constant attacks in the Liman direction. And near Kharkiv, they are still fighting in summer uniforms and have limited rations.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that.

Ukrainian troops have recently advanced in the northern Sumy region.

Geolocation videos released on October 30 indicate that Ukrainian troops recently advanced in eastern Kostyantynivka and likely liberated Kondratievka earlier.

Russian forces continued offensive operations in the northern Kharkiv region but made no confirmed progress.

A Russian milblogger affiliated with the Northern Group of Forces claimed that wounded members of the 1009th Motorized Rifle Regiment operating in the center of Volchansk complained that Russian military commanders continue to issue "attrition" orders despite heavy losses in the regiment.

Soldiers in this unit still wear summer uniforms and have limited rations and must use their own money to pay for equipment and supplies. Company commanders, on the other hand, are demanding money from soldiers to purchase drones and communications equipment.

In the Kupyansk area, Russian forces have made no confirmed progress.

The Russian Defense Ministry and Russian milbloggers said on October 30 that Russian forces had captured Sadovoye (south of Kupyansk) and advanced southwest of Kupyansk. ISW found no evidence of this.

Ukrainian troops were holding positions or had recently advanced in the Limansk direction.

A spokesman for Ukraine's 3rd Army Corps Alexander Borodin said on October 30 that Russian forces continued to attack in small infantry groups in the Limansk direction and reduced the intensity of attacks when bad weather reduced the effectiveness of Russian drones. Russian forces are losing more than 12 troops a day in sustained attacks in this direction.

A Kremlin-linked Russian milblogger claimed that drone strikes on Ukrainian ground lines of communication, field depots and vehicles were integral to the ability of Russian forces to advance toward Liman and forced Ukrainian logistical units to move further behind the front line. Milblogger noted that the presence of Russian troops in Liman is limited and far from consolidated.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have held positions or recently advanced in the Konstantinovka-Druzhkovka tactical area.

The spokesman for the Eastern Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Captain Gryhoriy Shapoval, denied Russia's claims that Russian troops maintain a presence in the Santurinovka neighborhood (southeastern Konstantinovka) and that fighting continues in the vicinity of Konstantinovka.

The speaker of Ukraine's 19th AK, Major Oleh Zelinsky, said that Russian small infantry groups continue unsuccessful attacks on Konstantinovka.

The head of the Konstantinovka city military administration, Sergei Gorbunov, said some 5,000 civilians remain in Konstantinovka under constant Russian artillery, aircraft and drone fire.

Russian forces recently advanced in Pokrovsk.

Russian milbloggers claimed that Russian troops advanced in eastern Pokrovsk, southeast of Mirnograd, and in central Rog (both east of Pokrovsk), as well as north and east of Novopavlovka (south of Pokrovsk)

The geolocation videos, released on October 28, show Ukrainian forces striking Russian positions at the intersection of the Donetsk railroad and the T-0515 Pokrovsk-Dobropillya highway in eastern Pokrovsk after what ISW assesses to be a Russian infiltration mission. ISW assesses that this event did not change control of the terrain or the leading edge of the combat zone.

In Zaporizhia and Kherson oblasts, Russian forces were unable to advance.
