Russia has complained about a new drone attack. Powerful explosions sounded in Yaroslavl in the morning of October 31, writes OBOZ.UA.
There, a local oil refinery, one of the five largest refineries in Russia, was reportedly attacked. The strikes on the plant have been reported by some Russian media outlets, and Russians are posting videos of the explosions on social media.
What is known
Russian Telegram channel "VChK-OGPU" reported a drone attack on Yaroslavl after 5 a.m. Kiev time (after 6 Moscow time).
"Drones attacked Yaroslavl. One of the targets of the attack was the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery," the report said.
Russians posted videos online, capturing the hum of drone engines, weak attempts by Russian air defense to shoot them down, powerful explosions, and sometimes - the glow after them.
According to discussions in local publics, the first explosions sounded at about 04:38-04:40 Kiev time, then they continued at intervals of 5-10 minutes. By 05:20, some city residents counted at least 10 "pops" - and they continued.
The "Cover" plan has been introduced at Yaroslavl airport amid the attack: sending and receiving flights have been stopped.
The fire at the Yaroslavl refinery is being detected by satellites, the "Crimean Wind" Telegram channel pointed out.
"This refinery was also attacked on October 1, there was a strong fire," the channel's administrators recalled.

"Yaroslavnefteorgsintez" ("Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez", "Slavneft-YANOS") is the largest oil refinery in northern Russia. It is located in Yaroslavl.

The largest shareholders of the enterprise are Russian giants Gazprom Neft and Rosneft.
The plant is also one of the largest oil refineries in central Russia and is part of the vertically integrated oil company Slavneft. The main activity of the enterprise is oil refining. The refinery's profile is fuel and oil.

The enterprise's capacity is designed to process 15 million tons of oil per year. It ranks 5th among Russian refineries in terms of primary oil refining.

The enterprise produces several dozens of petroleum products: motor gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, jet fuel and fuel oil; base, compression, transmission and industrial oils; bitumen - road, roofing and construction; paraffin wax products, aromatic hydrocarbons.
The consumers of the plant's products include practically all large enterprises of the Central and North-West regions of Russia, as well as airports, Northern Railway Department and military-industrial complex facilities.
